The evening of April 5th saw Elon students filling Taphouse to participate in a celebration focused on the queer community of Elon. Dragstravaganza is a show involving both professional and student drag queens and kings. This spring’s show headlined an Elon alumnus, Stormie Daie, and her fellow professional queen, Naomi Dix.
Elon University is known for offering a number of unique programs and events to both current and prospective students. This coming weekend in March is no exception, hosting one of Elon’s most extensive programs.
The Donning of the Kente is a newer event, organized by several organizations, such as the Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education, African and African American Studies at Elon, and the Office of Alumni Engagement.
Elon First Baptist Church celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a Sunday service.
About a 20 minute drive from campus is the Graham Soda Shop and Grill, a small-town diner and grill that serves up classic American meals and milkshakes.
Voting is a way for the people to express their individual voices in government. With the upcoming midterm elections, students are finding themselves drawn to the voting booths.
