When a friend asked sophomore Cate LeSourd if she would help lead a fundraising campaign in support of a summer service trip to Africa, Cate immediately thought, “Man, I wish I could go with her.” Four months later, she is. On the surface, LeSourd fits the mold of your typical, enthusiastic Elon student—assuredly overcommitted, yet wildly successful.

Tebow has the right to practice his faith, should be commended for never backing down

He’s one of the most well known players in the world of football. He’s a Christian - and he’s not afraid to admit it. As far as football goes, critics are quick to comment that Tim Tebow throws one of the ugliest balls in the game while relentlessly harping on the fact that he was barely able to complete half of his passes through the 2011 regular season, but pinpointing Tebow’s flaws in no way diminishes his feats. After selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos, Tebow transformed the 1-4 team as the starting quarterback.

Elon Centre Abroad in London revised, beginning fall 2012

The Elon Centre Abroad in London will be all new starting fall 2012. The changes come after Elon spent almost two years reviewing the program, ultimately deciding to change partnerships from the Anglo American Educational Services to the Foundation for International Education. "From the perspective of a student, there will be more alike than there will be different, but the differences will all be positive," said Woody Pelton, dean of International Programs. The new program offers an expanded course catalog with 20 to 30 academic courses compared to the four or five offered in the current program, according to Heidi White, associate director for study abroad. "I think it's just deepening what we had before," White said.
