Freshman student charges into technology industry

What do Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates and Elon First-Year Jack Kane all have in common? They all started technology companies in a college dorm room. This past December, Kane was looking online for a new iPhone charger and struggled to find one that was high quality but still fit in his college student budget.

Q&A: Retired admiral shares ways to support veterans, hopes for next administration

As a part of the Veterans’ Day events --- Elon hosted retired Adm. Mike Mullen to kick off the Carol Ann Walker International Lectureship Series. As Mullen spoke to veterans and other Elon community members in McCrary Theatre on Nov. 11, he shared the ways in which the U.S. can better support veterans as they transition from active duty service to civilian life. Mullen sat down with Elon News Network to discuss his views on the current state of support for veterans.

Elon University tunes into first-ever SUBFest with student performances

Elon University's Student Union Board hosted its first SUBFest on Nov. 8, an outdoor music festival featuring live performances, student-run businesses and giveaways. In partnership with Limitless, Limelight Records and WSOE, the event aimed to provide students with an afternoon of entertainment in Young Commons. Junior Caroline Reich, the graphic design chair of the Student Union Board, said the idea of SUBFest was inspired by her experience at a college music festival that she attended before coming to Elon.
